An animated series follows Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray) as he stumbles into joining the tight-knit crew of the Ghost, a Rebel’s vessel. Ezra discovers his destiny with Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr.), a Jedi survivor of Order 66.
Star Wars: Rebels ran for four seasons and accumulated an avid following. Several of them participated in the annual hashtag #RebelsRemembered on the fifth anniversary of the show’s conclusion to share their memories and their impressions of the show.
We will discuss our ten favorite memories from Emstar Warsem in this article.
A Certain Point Of View
Fans of @BlueJaigEyes were asked to share quotes that resonated with them. According to Bendu, it is impossible to be good or evil without an object. A desire for power, forbidden knowledge, or even the desire to do good can lead some down that path, but only you can change yourself.
” Bendu was a strange creature with a powerful connection to the Force, who trained Kanan after Maul (Sam Witwer) robbed him of his sight. Upon discovering Ezra seeking information from a Sith Holocron, Bendu said these words to Kanan.
As a Padawan, Kanan had received training in the Force, which was at odds with Bendu’s views on this and other aspects of the Force. However, Bendu’s guidance improved Kanan’s performance as a Jedi.
As one of many ways the show embraced the gray areas of the Force, it challenged the audience to reconsider the stark black-and-white thinking of the Jedi.
Kanan And Hera Were Space Married
Kanan’s deep connection with Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall) was evident throughout the show. The relationship between them and the crew created many questions. For most Jedi, marriage was forbidden because it could lead to a fall to the dark side.
Their romance becomes unquestionable in the series’ final episodes, eventually leading to a child in the finale. Despite the traditional wisdom of the Jedi Way, Hera’s love for Kanan made him a better Jedi, and @PattyBones2 knew it from the start.
The Best Locations In The ‘Star Wars Universe
With so many habitable planets and sentient species in a massive galaxy, the narrow focus on a few backwater worlds often makes the universe seem tiny. The crew of Rebels was based on an out-of-the-way planet.
But it was new, so they spent much time exploring other locations. The show had exciting worlds, mind-blowing Jedi and Sith architecture, and beautiful scenery. According to @LiamLikesSW, “the locations of #StarWarsRebels were unmatched.”
‘Rebels’ Was About Family
In Star Wars, family is a recurring theme, particularly in the works overseen by Dave Filoni, but the Rebels family stands out.
In a galaxy far, far away, three lost Jedi, a survivor of genocide, two daughters who have disappointed their people, an orphaned son, and a dangerously independent droid find each other and become friends.
This series explores the pain of separation from blood relatives and the depths of love possible between relatives. People are often surprised by how deeply this fantastic animation can move them, and @calebsdume was among those who did so.
Chopper Appreciation
A main droid is necessary in every Star Wars entry, and Chopper filled that role in Rebels. His sarcasm, love of pranks, and surprising threat to his enemies make him a unique droid.
When he’s instigating fights between Zeb (Steve Blum) and Ezra, screeching through a battlefield with blasters drawn, or nonchalantly knocking a droid off his ship when it threatens, he carries the show’s comedy on his shoulders (chassis?). As @SamDyeK pointed out, he is also a caring and sweet companion.
We Have Hope
According to @ChrisBr6511, “We have hope.” is one of his favorite quotes from Hera. Hopefully, things will improve shortly. There was no shortage of dark and devastating moments for the crew of the Ghost.
Despite this, the show reminds you repeatedly of the importance of holding onto hope and pushing forward. Despite impossible odds and heavy sacrifices, the crew dealt a devastating blow to the Empire, bringing hope and freedom to millions of people.
More than any other character, she embodies the optimistic spirit of Rebels, offering encouragement to the others when they struggle and overcoming her terrible loss without giving up on the future.
Ahsoka And Anakin’s Reunion
Many fans joined @DelgadilloArt in remembering Ahsoka’s painful but beautiful reunion with her former Master.
After several encounters with Vader, Ahsoka begins to suspect his true identity, but her suspicion is confirmed when she manages to crack open his helmet during a lightsaber duel.
As she feels guilty about her decision to leave the Jedi Order, she tells Anakin, “I will not abandon you.”. “Not this time.” However, Anakin reveals his fall by responding, “Then you will die.”.
The Impact Of Imperial Occupation
Amy Richau praised the show’s depiction of life under Imperial occupation. As the Empire exploits the people and resources of Ezra’s homeworld, Lothal, it suffers the consequences.
As things get bleak, it is even more satisfying to see the Rebellion drive the Empire from Lothal. These obscure people in this natural world have devastatingly affected the Empire’s war effort across the galaxy.
Even if most people won’t know the good they did, this is a powerful reminder of the impact an ordinary person can have.
Kenobi And Maul Have A Final Showdown
The most famous scene in Rebels occurs when Maul tracks Obi-Wan down on Tatooine. Over the years, Obi-Wan and Anakin have faced off many times, but this final battle shows Obi-Wan’s mastery of the Force, the lightsaber, and himself as an older man.
Most of the fight occurs mentally before the first strike even lands, rather than in a prolonged battle between two warriors. Throughout their shared history, Obi-Wan cycles through poses and calls up memories for Maul.
After controlling Maul’s feelings and his own, he defeats him quickly when Maul strikes. As Obi-Wan holds Maul during his final moments, his compassion shines through. It resonated with @theMandaTorian.
