Marie Osmond was born on 13 October 1959 in Ogdah, Utah, United States. Her father’s name is George, and her mother is Olive Osmond. She was the eighth of nine children to Olive May and George Virl Osmond, and the only daughter.

She was raised in a family that followed Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church. Two of her elder brothers, Virl and Tom, were born deaf.

Her other brothers, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Jimmy, Alan, and Wayne, began performing as a barbershop quartet at a young age and eventually found success on The Andy Williams Show in the 1960s.

This success prompted the family to move to Los Angeles. At four years old, she made her first appearance on The Andy Williams Show.

During her childhood, She spent most of her time at home with her mother, Olive, and her brothers, Virl, Tom, Donny, and Jimmy. She and Donny were particularly close and would often play together.

Marie Osmond signed with MGM/Kolob Records in 1970 and began performing country music with her brothers. In 1973, her debut single “Paper Roses” reached No. 1 on two Billboard charts and earned her a gold record. Osmond first married Stephen Lyle Craig, a Brigham Young University basketball player, in 1982. Their only child, Stephen James Craig, was born in 1983. The couple divorced in October 1985.

On October 28, 1986, Marie Osmond married Brian Blosil at the Jordan River Temple in Utah. The couple had seven children, five of whom were adopted. Their five adopted children are Jessica, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Abigail, while two, Rachael and Matthew, were biological.
