Her father, Pat Musi, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Facebook on the night of June 27, 2024. He posted:

“Surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven at 11:25 PM tonight. We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support throughout her battle. At this time, the family would like to have some time to process their grief and make arrangements in peace. We will provide an update once we have more information to share.”

Lizzy had previously opened up about her diagnosis in April 2023 through an emotional Instagram post. She wrote:

“Well, here it is…. I never thought I would post a photo like this. I want to share every raw moment with you throughout my journey.
Two nights ago, I had to shave my head due to extreme hair loss. Kye helped me with the shaving at the race track, and I can’t imagine doing it any other way.
Every time I brushed my hair, it would fall out in clumps. I had bald spots and excessive shedding, and it eventually reached a point where I was ready to take that step.
So, here is the new me. Some days, it’s tough to look in the mirror, but there are days when I feel more vital than ever. 💗”
