Alabama Football

Somewhere the birds are singing,

Somewhere playful children shout,

But there is no joy in ‘Bama,

For the Crimson Tide has just run out,

Twenty-nineteen brings another fall

When the leaves turn crimson red,

And with it comes the Tide again,

That every football team will dread

Meanwhile in South Carolina,

In the mighty Tiger’s lair,

The coveted champion’s trophy,

Sits serenely waiting there

Once again the clarion call will rise

Across the autumn’s tranquil scene

For our Tigers to defend their title

Upon the broad and gridded green

There the Tiger’s mighty roar will sound

To its traditional football foes,

May Orange and Crimson meet again

As long as gridiron grass still grows!
