Entering his 14th season as head coach at Clemson, Trevor Adair faces a tough challenge this fall. Adair's 167-82-24 record as the Tigers' head coach is a testament to his teams' potential to rise above adversity. But the Tigers return just six starters from last year's squad that finished the season with a 7-11-1 (2-6 ACC) record.

Picked to finish fourth in the ACC a year ago, the volleyball team exceeded expectations and dominated the conference in route to the ACC title and an NCAA tournament berth. This season, they hope to repeat that feat, but face higher expectations. In the ACC preseason poll, the Tigers were picked to finish first and had the most players on the preseason All-ACC teams.

Equestrian The Clemson Equestrian Club had three riders qualify for Nationals which were held in Los Angles from May 8-11. Sarah Beth Spainhour placed first in open over fences. Charlotte Powers, a senior psychology major, placed eighth in the Cacchione Cup, which is only open to the top 30 riders in the country.

Athletes running so fast (near 30 mph), jumping so high and throwing so far, the idea that the human body can accomplish such feats is simply mind-boggling. The track and field portion of the Beijing Olympics was one for the record books, literally.
