World Wildlife Fund sponsors contest to raise money for endangered species

Clemson University, the University of Missouri and Auburn University have joined forces to help the World Wildlife Fund and its work toward protecting endangered tigers, the namesake of the three universities' mascots. Each college sharing the tiger mascot will compete to raise $75,000 to help end the endangered tiger trade in China and the eastern Himalayans.

Two white males sexually assaulted a female Clemson student in parking lot R-1, across Perimeter Road from the Botanical Garden, while she was waiting for the campus escort service. The rape occurred between 1:30 and 2 a.m. early Jan. 11. The attackers left the scene when, coincidently, the campus lightning siren began broadcasting.

Recently, the University has teamed up with CUPD and Pickens County to establish new security features that will improve safety on campus. One of the latest and most easily accessible features is the ClearTXT text messaging system, a convenient way of informing students about what is happening on campus.

Clemson University will be holding its annual celebration honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. beginning this weekend, featuring various events from an art exhibit to a commemorative march and service. The events kicked off on Thursday with the opening of a photo exhibit called "Orangeburg 1968: A Time and Place Remembered" featuring the work of Cecil Williams on the historic Orangeburg Massacre.
