Clemson nostalgia: reminescing on a good four years
PRINT | SHARE

Like death, taxes and Oliver Purnell’s resignation, some things in life are inevitable.

For the thousands of Clemson seniors (who have completed their ePortfolios, of course), graduation, too, falls into that category of unavoidably necessary life events.

As one of these soon-to-be graduates, I’d like to say we, members of the esteemed class of 2010, have seen it all. We’ve survived the Great Snows of ’07, ’08, ’09 and ’10, endured our fair share of group projects and Schilletter dinners and made it through multiple spring breaks with hardly more than minor damage to our permanent records.

The events that have transpired this year alone have been some for the record books; who would have thought we’d be witness to healthcare reform, the iPad and the fraudulence of Balloon Boy in the same year the Tigers finally reached the ACC Championship?

Nine months have passed since the first day of classes, and with two weeks remaining in the semester, only five days of classes and a few pesky exams stand between us and our sunny summer freedom. We’re in the home stretch now.

But who am I kidding?

The end may be in sight, but it’s looking more like a pinprick of light in the distance than the all-encompassing peaceful glow needed to combat the serious case of senioritis I’ve caught.

Here in Clemson, we know the air is truly fresher, the sunlight brighter and the grass always greener on our side. But with the stress of the end of the semester keeping us locked away in the dungeons of Cooper, it’s easy to forget how special Clemson really is.

So with that said, I leave you with a few of the reasons why I’ve enjoyed my illustrious career as a Tiger and hope you too will experience at some point during your four (or five! or six!) years here.
