5.

“Hook.” Not only does this film have an incredibly stacked cast, but who doesn’t enjoy a modern twist on a classic fairytale? Now an adult, Peter (Robin Williams) is forced to return to Neverland when Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman) steals his children. But with the help of the lost boys and Tinker Bell (Julia Roberts), Peter quickly gets back into the swing of swords, pirates and crocodiles. Fighting off Hook proves to be quite the adventure, but as a child of the ’90s, I can’t wait to return to Neverland!

4.

“Homeward Bound.” Crossing miles of mountains, fighting off bobcats and forging raging rivers is no easy feat for anyone, let alone two house dogs and a house cat. But, for Shadow, Chance and Sassy, their incredible journey begins when they get lost in the wilderness, miles away from their home and family. Starring the voices of Don Ameche, Michael J. Fox and Sally Field, “Homeward Bound” is an emotional roller coaster, with an uplifting ending.

3.

“Free Willy.” A captured killer whale. A rebellious abandoned pre-teen. An elderly Native American mentor. Throw in a Michael Jackson theme song and a dramatic escape scene and you’ve got yourself a winner. No one is surprised when the imprisoned whale and neglected boy begin to form an inseparable bond, but that doesn’t make their tender friendship any less enjoyable. Willy and Jesse save each other, and that’s something even a 5-year-old can understand.

2.

“Jumanji.” Robin Williams’ second appearance on the countdown comes in the form of a cursed board game. When Alan Parish (Williams) and his friend Sarah sit down to play a round of Jumanji in 1969, they never expect it will take 26 years and two new players to finish. Before the game is won, the crew must battle a slew of dangers, including a stampede, killer mosquitoes and a hunter whose mission is to kill Alan. The movie will have you on the edge of your seat, but luckily Robin is there for the comical relief.

1.

“Wild America.” Wolves, snakes, moose, alligators, hippies and explosions. Oh, and a cave full of grizzly bears. Not a problem for the Stouffer boys. As these three set out across the country to film America’s most endangered predators, they get closer to nature than they could have ever bargained. This is a film for the whole family, however, adolescent girls might be its biggest fan based on the eye-candy. (Hello, JTT!) Nevertheless, this movie is an action-packed story that will have you on the rooting for the Stouffers from your living room!
